To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence."
Here is to all of the men and women who have fought and died for our great country! (And also to the men and women who are STILL fighting the war in Iraq...)
Happy Memorial Day!

Here here!
thank you for posting such a meaningful post. Have a wonderful Memorial Day
I totally agree. Thanks for posting the tribute.
I had no idea about the 3 o'clock moment of silence. Good thing I'm reading this at 2! I've already had a couple of conversations with my little ones about what today is...but now I'll be sure to have a moment of silence at 3 with them too!
Thanks!
Well said! Did not know about the moment of silence either.
